This is one of those pieces that I think people look at as a cry for help. Personally, it is just evocative of a feeling about life's repetitive nature and the cycle of hopelessness that we can all suffer from the hands of circumstance. Far from being a cry for help, it was a way to gain insight and control over these feelings. I think it is quite a powerful piece as a result.
